About Pocket Presbyterian Church

Pocket Presbyterian Church is a historic PC(USA) congregation in Sanford, NC. We are a place of prayer, peace and joy to all who join us. Our community is warm, welcoming, and committed to coming together to worship and serve together. We look forward to welcoming you to our family.

Through Sunday school, Bible study, choir, missions, and fellowship, we have many avenues for people to connect.

Get Connected

Our Sunday school classes and small groups are the heart and soul of Pocket. Let us help you find the group that will be the right fit for you. The folks in the Berean, Sanctuary, Rainbow, Youth, and Children's classes would be so glad to welcome you.

Throughout the year, we also form small groups which are great opportunities to grow in faith and fellowship. These groups gather for study and conversation on a variety of topics.

Our Calling

Love in Action

Sewing Sisters

If you walk into the fellowship hall of Pocket Presbyterian Church between eight and noon on any given Tuesday, you’ll hear someone bragging about their grandchild over the whir of sewing machines.

A small but dedicated group of women in rural Sanford, North Carolina get together to sew every week. But they’re not sewing for their grandchildren. Using donated fabric, they sew garments for children in impoverished countries, who are more at risk for human trafficking than children with clothes. The women’s operation takes over the whole room, divided into multiple workstations: a few people cut out fabric, some surge the seams, some sew and a couple iron the pants, shirts and dresses before folding and packing them in a second-hand suitcase.

I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home. I needed clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Matthew 25:35-36
